Mr. Thebe Phirinyane holds an MSc in Project Management from the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom (UK), a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Mechanical Engineering) from University of Botswana and a Postgraduate Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).
Mr. Phirinyane is a seasoned Engineer with over 18 years of experience in Engineering and Project Management acquired from various industries ranging from Oil and Gas, Mining, Government, Certification & Regulatory Body, and Engineering Consultancy.
His career started in 2003 as a Junior Engineer at North Atlantic Engineering Consultants. He then joined the Department of Energy as an Assistant Energy Engineer and later joined the Botswana Bureau of Standards as Standards Engineer – Testing. Subsequently, he joined Debswana as Chief Standards Officer and rejoined the Botswana Bureau of Standards as a Principal Engineer.
In 2014 he joined Tati Nickel Mining Company as Section Manager - Quality Assurance. Mr. Phirinyane has been Project Manager at ASA Enterprises and Risk and Quality Manager at CA Sales and Distribution.
He joined the Oil and Gas industry in 2017 as a Project Engineer-Commercial at Vivo Energy Botswana and later joined Khoemacau Copper Minning as a Mechanical Engineer (Projects and Centralised Services).
Mr. Phirinyane joins Botswana Oil Limited from Botswana Ash, where he held the role of Plant Services Engineer.
Mr. Thebe Phirinyane is currently the Senior Manager, Engineering, having joined Botswana Oil in January 2023.
