COVID-19 virus has spread at an alarming rate across globally and in Botswana. The COVID-19 is a viral disease resulting exposure to a family of viruses known as the Coronaviruses, which can cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases, such as the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). The symptoms of the COVID-19 illness are similar to that of regular pneumonia. Typical symptoms include fever, runny nose, sore throat, cough, headache, nausea, and shortness of breath.

The COVID-19 virus may have severe implications on the security of petroleum products/services supply, employee wellness and general operations of BOL. In line with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health (MOH)’s and other Government COVID-19 set Protocols, BOL developed some protocols guiding the Company in managing COVID-19 cases, prevent exposure and transmission of the coronaviruses to employees from infected employees, shared surfaces, facilities, or equipment.
