Merapelo Tsie holds a Bachelorโs Degree in Accounting. She is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a Fellow Certified Professional Accountant with the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCPA, BICA) and an Affiliate member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers. Her academic credentials are further strengthened by a Postgraduate Certificate in Risk Management, an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business, a Certificate in Treasury Management, and the successful completion of a Management Development Programme. She is currently pursuing a Diploma in Treasury Management.
Ms. Tsie is a highly accomplished finance professional with more than 17 years of experience in finance, audit, treasury management, and strategic financial management. Her career commenced in 2008 at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as an Auditor, where she was exposed to a wide range of industries, including financial services, mining, parastatals, property development, and pension funds.
Subsequently, she served as a Financial Accountant at both Bank Gaborone and Easigas Botswana (Pty) Ltd. Later, she joined Botswana Development Corporation (BDC), where she held multiple leadership positions, including Manager Finance-Subsidiary Management, Manager Financial Planning and Treasury, and ultimately, Head of Financial Planning and Treasury. Her work contributed significantly to the Corporationโs financial sustainability and strategic financial direction.
Beyond her operational roles, Ms. Tsie has served on various Boards and Committees throughout her career; Board Member at Rhodes Food Group Partnership, BDC Asset Management Company (Pty) Ltd and Lobatse Clay Works (Pty) Ltd, and served as a Member of the Audit and Finance Committee at Lions Park Amusement Centre (Pty) Ltd and Aleyo Capital (Pty) Ltd.
She joined Botswana Oil Limited in November 2024, as the Senior Manager โ Treasury. Her acting role for Chief Finance Officer commenced in January 2026 to date, she oversees Procurement, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Finance and Administration and Treasury divisions.
